Want something really badly?

Then pray for it!

As Muslims, alhamdulillah, we thank God (SWT) often for everything we are blessed with and pay special attention to not be deceived by the zeinat (attractions) of this world. And of course, this is all well and good and it takes a special effort to do so. It is a commendable character to have and Allah (SWT) loves those who are thankful. But when we desire something in this world that may be material we become ashamed of ourselves and say that we are being greedy.

But this is a misconception; Allah (SWT) is rewarding and kind. He (SWT) is rewarding to our prayers, our thanks, and our zakat. So pray to Allah (SWT) to your heart’s desire and thank him often. And if Allah (SWT) were to prevent you from something then know that He plans for something better for you inshAllah.

“But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.” – Surat Al – Baqarah 2:216

If we cannot turn to Allah (SWT) for the things we need in this world – then who can we turn to?

Even the Prophets (PBUT), the most outstanding followers of Islam prayed to Allah (SWT) for righteous offspring and fine bounties, “Then Zachariah (PBUH) prayed unto his Lord and said: My Lord! Bestow upon me of Thy bounty goodly offspring. Lo! Thou art the Hearer of Prayer.” – 3:38 Al – Imran.

So pray to relieve your burdens, and pray for success and pray for health for indeed prayer to Allah (SWT) in itself is submission to His great power over your destiny and fortune!
